Dr. Chen’s interests include using magnetoencephalography (MEG) and structural MRI to study cognitive processing (e.g., social cognition and auditory processing) as well as resting-state activity in neurodevelopmental and psychiatric patient populations. Her current research study focuses on examining brain function and structure in typical developing infants and young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using infant MEG and MRI. In particular, she is interested in identifying age-specific social brain and behavioral biomarkers in typical developing infants and young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as evaluating the developmental trajectory of brain responses to social stimuli (e.g., faces), simple visual and auditory stimuli.
